| A 369 word Grand Canyon Adventure story |

Matt had always wanted to hike the canyon ever since reading a story called Brighty of the Grand Canyon as a boy. He planned his trip for months, working extra hours and odd jobs to save money so that he could take a 2 month vacation and buy the best camping gear. In his spare time he would pore over maps and read travellers guides so that he would have a sense of what he would be getting into. He even went so far as to read up on the Hualapaises' culture so that if he happened on some artifacts he would know what he was seeing. Of course, he would never think of taking any artifacts, but it would be fun to keep an eye out for them.
Finally, the day of the trip arrived. Matt had spent the day before packing and repacking his gear to make sure he hadn't forgotten anything important. He was sure he had, and that he would end up regretting it, but he knew that was an inevitability with this type of adventure. Matt knew this and he couldn't sleep the night before his trip began as warnings from his friends about watching out that his meshugaases didn't get him into a pickle he couldn't get out of. Nonetheless, he was determined to go through with his plans for his trip. He had been wanting to do this for his entire life, and nothing could change his mind.
The first week was exciting yet fairly uneventful (except for a few slips into the water), but by the 10th day into his adventure, Matt was getting used to the Canyon and its rhythms. Unfortunately for Matt, he was about to learn what he had forgotten to bring along. As he was hiking along about mid-morning on the 10th day of his adventure, he stumbled upon a secret entrance into the hollow center of the world where the reptilian secret world government has its headquarters. The guardians of the entrance were surprised to see him, but not for long. As the reptilian triggermens' firearms rose into the air, the last thought to run through Matt's head was, "Damn, I forgot the Kevlar vest!"
